The Pee Wee Black Sox have 3 exhibition games this weekend
vs Valley East times are 1pm and 5 pm on Saturday and 10am Sunday
There will be a home run contest in between the games on Saturday.
Come on out and cheer on the kids. |

London Tournament
|
The PeeWee Black Sox played in London over the weekend finishing at 2 wins and 2 loses.
Our 1st game was against the host team London.This was a grunge match for London. We beat them in a semi final about a month ago. We started Joel Soltys he pitched 5 strong innings for us leaving the game down 4-1. Our bats did not hit in clutch situations. We had runners on 2nd & 3rd in the 3rd, 5th & 6th innings. We did not score a run in any of those situations losing 7-1.
The next day we played St- Mary’s. Told the boys lets get 2 wins today and see what happens. Well they did not disappoint us. Michael Wilson pitched 3 shutout innings and we got hits from everyone beating St-Mary’s 25- 0
We now had Oakridge to play and we needed a win and hope for Niagara Falls to lose. In this game the lead changed 4 times it was a see- saw battle. We started Noah Pearce pitching and he lasted 3 2/3 innings leaving the game up 3-2. After the 5th inning Oakridge took the lead
5-4. In the bottom of the 6th the boys came alive scoring 4 times to take a 8-5 lead. We knew it was not over yet. Oakridge scored twice and they had the bases loaded with 2 outs but the boys dug deep and pulled it off.
The boys were excited they wanted to know if they were in for the semis the next day. Well 5 minutes after our game was over the good news came and London had beat Niagara and we were in the semi final against Simcoe which had not lost yet.
This team just never made any errors we hit the ball but there was no mistakes from this Simcoe team. We made a few too many costing us. The boys came up short losing 7-1.

Tecumseh Tournament
|
PeeWee Black Sox played their first tournament of the year this past weekend. They finish with the silver medal. Proud of how the boys played all weekend. Here are the weekend results.
Friday night Amhersburg beat us 3-2. Joel Soltys and Noah Byers pitched 3 solid innings each but we could not get any offence going.We got 2 hits each from Joel Soltys and Michael Wilson 1 hit from Noah Byers Liam Brescacin and Zack Duchesne. Saturday afternoon we played the host team Tecumseh they beat us 5-4. We got solid pitching from Michael Wilson and Jackson ConeyBear. We were tied 4-4 after 5 innings but we could not hold on and lost 5-4. We got 2 hits each from Zack Duchesne, Michael Wilson and Bruce Solomon and 1 hit from Joel Soltys, Cole Wright, Liam Brescacin, Noah Pearce, Noah Byers and Cameron Oliver. Playing back to back vs Kingsville the boys bats came alive beating them 11-8 lead by Zack Duchesne's with 4 hits and Joel Soltys right behind him with 3 hits we also got 2 hits each from Liam Brescacin, Noah Byers and Bruce Solomon. The boys had to play 1hr later for the quarter-finals vs Kingsville again. This time beating them 12-1 in 5 innings. Noah Pearce pitched 4 solid innings and the offence was lead by Joel Soltys, Cole Wright, Noah Pearce and Michael Wilson with 2 hits each.
Semi-Finals was the most exciting game of the weekend vs. London. Down 3-2 after 6 innings and 2 outs with nobody on base Bruce Solomon gets a single followed by Zack Duchesne's single. With 2 on and 2 outs Michael Wilson cleared the bases with a triple and scoring on the next pitch with a pass ball giving us a 5-3 lead going in the bottom of the 7th inning. Jackson Coneybear pitching a solid bottom of the inning. Joel Soltys pitched 4 solid innings. The defence was solid and it made it for dramatic ending. We had Tecumseh in the finals with the score 4-4 after 4 innings we came up with 1 bad inning the whole tournament giving up 6 runs in the bottom of the 5th pretty much sealing the victory for them. The boys kept on trying but to no avail.Would like to name all of the boys that went down.

Noah Pearce played 3rd, pitcher,outfield and ss.

Jackson Coneybear played pitcher, ss, outfield.
Michael Wilson played 3rd, pitcher, outfield and catcher.
Zackary Duchesne played catcher, 1st and outfield.
Joel Soltys played ss, pitcher, outfield and catcher
Cole Wright played 1st, outfield and 2nd.

2011 Pee Wee Black Sox Tryouts

The Soo Pee Wee Black Sox baseball season is slowly approaching.
The tryouts are to begin held on the following dates:
Saturday March 26, 10:00 am – 12:00 Noon
Saturday April 2, 10:00 am – 12:00 Noon
Saturday April 9, 10:00 am – 12:00 Noon
Saturday April 16, 10:00 am - 12:00 Noon
Saturday April 23, 10:00 am – 12:00 Noon
Saturday April 30, 10:00 am - 12:00 Noon
*Tuesday evenings may be added as well.*
The practices will be held at Etienne Brule School, 241 Albert Street West.
Please bring a baseball glove, proper workout attire, non marking shoes and an athletic supporter .
