Three more members of the 2007 edition of the Cambrian Nissan Midget Black Sox are attending American colleges on baseball scholarships this fall.
J.J. Bergamin, a right-handed pitcher, is attending Kankakee Community College located in Kankakee, Illinois. The Cavaliers compete within Region IV of the NJCAA. Overall, they hold five Region IV Championships and have made three trips to the Junior College World Series. The team claims 19 professional players,11 All-Americans and 5 Academic All-Americans from its ranks. Bergamin had a record of 5-1 with an ERA of 1.14 this past season with the Black Sox. He also recorded 53 strike outs in 43 innings of work.
Wyatt Curry, left-handed hitting infielder, is attending Hope College, situated in Holland, Michigan. Hope is a member of the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA). Nicknamed the Flying Dutchmen, last season’s record of 29-13 was a school record. They have won 8 MIAA Championships since 1994. Hope has long been recognized as a leading educational institution whose alumni have gone on to achieve distinction in their chosen professions. Wyatt led the Black Sox in Home Runs with 7 while batting .344
Kyle Sayers, right-handed pitcher/outfielder, is in Battle Creek, Michigan attending Kellogg Community College. Kellogg plays in the Michigan Community College Athletic Association (MCCAA).Kyle is looking to gain a spot on a pitching staff that lost in the Championship game of the Junior College World Series last year. Kellogg finished the season with a record of 44-15. During a Prospect’s Camp in August, Sayers’ fastball was clocked at 88 MPH. He had 47 strikeouts in 35 innings pitched while leading the Black Sox in average (.396), RBI’S (38), hits (55) and doubles (17).

The Cambrian Nissan Black Sox will be hosting their 13th annual invitational tournament June 8 - 10.
Visiting teams will be the E.U.P. Travelers, Gladwin Post 171, Marquette Blues, and Thunder Bay Mountain Hawks.
